Thai Government to ban the underboob.

What do you guys make of this article on Dazed today?  Up to three years in jail?  This is an interesting article; it illustrates how online censorship does not pertain only to Instagram in North America.

  1. This is my first time hearing about this type of “ban” and I find it quite ridiculous.
“When people take these ‘underboob selfies’ no one can see their faces. So it’s like, we don’t know who these belong to, and it encourages others to do the same.” This is what culture ministry spokesman Anandha Chouchoti had to say about the issue and I personally find her argument lacking credibility since it is does not state any dangers or threats that this underboob trend poses. I believe that women posting these underboob photos are trying to challenge facebook’s new content rules (only bans breasts if the whole nipple is out) and by doing so they are displaying women’s capacities to act independently and make their own choices. In other words, they are performing collective agency.
